Winter Home Tour

Today I am sharing my 2020 Winter Home Decor! I always try to decorate for the winter season, especially after the holidays, I think my house looks a little sad! This year, I wanted to balance out some winter neutral decor of pine cones, grays and cream with some fun valentine decorations!

Decorating the front hall sets the stage for the rest of the house. This year I wanted to be sure to use decor that would carry us through the entire winter season but still have a touch of celebration for Valentine's Day.

Tiered trays are just my favorite thing these days. I love how you can contain decor in a defined area with it being out of the way and stylish at the same time. The tray above I found at Marshall's and I have filled it with some LOVE themed Rae Dunn and a sweet photo of me and my honey on our wedding day!

In the kitchen is where you will find more traditional Valentine's Day decorations! We spend most of our time in this part of the house so it is fun to see see sweet red hearts everywhere!

I put together another tiered tray for the center island, this one with a baking theme!  I found the most adorable string of heart lights at the Dollar Tree, they were the perfect addition to the trays set around the kitchen!

I share even more Winter Decor ideas in the video below!

2019 FALL HOME TOUR

We are playing a little Fall catch up today!  I am sharing some of my favorite posts over the last few weeks that never did make it here on the blog! I hope you enjoy!

Fall has arrived here in NOVA and I am so excited to share with all  of you my 2019 Fall Home Tour!  Truth be told, I am so grateful for Fall!  I think Autumn is our gift for enduring the heat of summer!  No other season makes me so happy to decorate the house and pull out scarves and boots!  You can keep you Pumpkin Latte and give me Spiced Apple Cider every time!

Pumpkin is one of those colors that always brightens up a room was the perfect color to bring just the right amount of Fall into our family room.  The pillow, throw and pumpkin garland on the fireplace were all found at Home Goods!

I have been going for a simplified approach to my decorating this season.  I have a tendency to go a little over board, especially in the Fall.  This single painted Dollar Tree pumpkins is perfect atop of the vintage typewriter on the side table.

For even more fall decor be sure to check out the video below!

2019 Halloween Home Tour

I am so excited to share with you our 2019 Halloween Home Tour! Halloween has always been my absolute favorite holiday! The only expectations are to have fun, care a pumpkin, run around in some leaves and eat some candy, which is something I can definitely get behind!

I really think our house comes alive in the Fall.  In the summer time we are always running and traveling, spending more time out side of the house then in.  Come Fall, I think my whole family is ready to settle in a bit and spend more time at home and gathered together around a good meal!

Halloween holds such happy memories for me that the colors of the season just make me simile!

Trick or Treating is such a wonderful community traditions. No other holiday depends so much on neighbor's kindness and community involvement like Halloween does.

See my full Halloween Home Tour in the video below!

Summer Crock-Pot Meal, Dollar Store Farmhouse DIY & Vintage Shop With Me

We are officially on summer break and today I have a great summer crock pot meal, we are heading out to visit my favorite antique store and we are making our own farmhouse stamped books!
                             (Featured Links are Affiliate Links)

Today we are just hanging at house and bumming around so I am wearing a simple outfit of a  Tie Waist T-Shirt in white from JCrew, a  Lemon Lime Cardigan from Loft some Target cropped  Jeans.  I am also wearing my new Keds Sneakers I found on Amazon.

This recipe couldn't be any simpler!  It's a wonderful summer time recipe that cooks in the  Crock-Pot all day and makes your house smell wonderful.

BBQ Pork
*******
This recipe is just 3 ingredients,
1 16oz jar of peach salsa
1 16oz bottle of BBQ Sauce
2 port loins

Place pork loins in the bottom of crock-pot.  Season generously with salt pepper and garlic powder.  Cover with both bottles of bbq sauce and peach salsa.  Cover and set on high to cook for 5-6 hours on high.

I recently posted this pic on Instagram and got so many questions about the stamped books!  You can find these books all over Pinterest and ETSY but it is really simple to make your own.

For details on how to create your won Farmhouse Stamped Books and to do a little antique shopping with me, check out the video below!

Thank you so much for spending some time with me today!  I hope you will visit my YouTube channel for some more great ideas!

Spring Decorate With Me

As I sit here watching the rain fall against my window wraped in a blanket, I'm thinking of the spring season upon us.  So many things fo through my mind as I think about warm spring days, flowers, sunshine bunnies, Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs... I think that is a story for another day!  I am more then ready to bring a little spring in my home!

So on this first day of spring rainy afternoon I am taking some time out to do a little spring time decorating in the kitchen.  I thought it would be fun to take you all along with me as I build our spring time tablescape!

I have gathered some things from around the house that I would like to include in my table decorations. I have also picked out a few new things this year from Pier 1, Home Goods and my favorite Target Dollar Spot.

Actually decided to build the table around these pink and gray bunny napkins that I found in the Dollar Spot a few years ago from Target.

I always like to use something to ground my centerpieces and arrangements.  Today I am using this beautiful cream serving platter:

When ever possible I love to add ribbon, to me nothing is as budget friendly and gives the most impact than ribbon. I found this great checked ribbon on Amazon and it's perfect to add a  big fluffy bow to the top of the birdhouse It adds a great finishing touch and I think it pulls in the table runner and place mats

I really love the way my spring table has come out. I like to keep things simple and light in the spring time and I love how these neutral colors brighten my kitchen in this rainy day.

Farmhouse DIY Tire Swing Wreath

All Amazon Links are Affiliate Links.

Today I am joining Christina at The DIY Mommy and her YouTube 2019 Organization and DIY Decor Challenge!  I am sharing this beautiful farmhouse DIY  Galvanized Metal Tire Swing!

So to get started for our project today in keeping with the farmhouse theme that I have in my home I have chosen some ivory colored floral and dusted pale green leaves, all from Hobby Lobby. I have some gingham ribbon and a large galvanized tire swing I found on Amazon that I’ll leave a link to HERE

I like to include a large bow on most of the wreaths that I make and for that you will need your ribbon, scissors and some twine.

Watch the video below for the full DIY!

I think this unique wreath looks perfect in our dining room hung on a vintage farmhouse door that I found at my favorite antique store in Lucketts VA. I think the use of the pale green Dusty leaves and white floral’s give this space just the right amount of color that it needs.

Rae Dunn Decorating & Collection 2019

I have been collecting Rae Dunn for over 2 years!  I just love their farmhouse feel and simplicity!  When I first started collecting I had no idea how popular they were and how difficult it would be to find the pieces you wanted.  Today I am sharing the Rae Dunn pieces that I have collected over the years and how I display them in my home.  The pieces I use daily and those I decorate with.

I was lucky to find the complete canister set on my first Rae Dunn  shopping trip at Home Goods.

Winter Home Tour

With the holidays over and decorations put away, our homes can look a little sad!  With some simple seasonal decorations and a little touch of color, those long winter nights don't seem too cold!

A touch of red brightens any space and brings a little Valentine celebration to the season.

After all the holiday glitter, keep winter decor simple and natural.

One of our favorite take aways from the holidays was the drink station we put together for those late night hot coco parties.
