Back on That IPSY Train

I am jumping back on the IPSY train!  I have been a bit lax with posting my monthly IPSY bag so I thought to make up for it (no pun intended) I would post the new bag along with my favorite products from the previous month.  If you are unfamiliar with IPSY it is a monthly subscription box that contains 4-5 beauty product samples, some products may be full size.  Each month has a different theme and the products come in an adorable theme based cosmetic case all for just $10.  You can find more information and subscribe here.

The Summer Lovin July IPSY bag was one of my most favorite IPSY bags of all time.  I barely have pictures to share because I couldn't wait to use it!

First off, LOVE the bag, to me it says SUMMER!  The first product i tried and loved was the Vasanti Brighten Up scrub.  It left my face feeling clean, smooth and I do believe a bit brighter. I would definitely repurchase.  My second favorite product was the much loved TARTE Park Avenue Princess Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer.  I have loved it from a far, don't know why I never purchased it on my own.  I am a big fan of TARTE to begin with and Park Avenue Princess did not disappoint.  A lovely shade perfect for contouring.  I always share my bag with my daughter and she loved the Octavio Molina Sea Salt Spray and the Be A Bombshell Lip Balm in Ruby.  The only product we haven't had the chance to use yet is the Aurora Gel Effect Nail Lacquer but the week isn't over yet!

At first glance the August Prep School IPSY bag was cute but I thought the products inside didn't seem to match this month's theme.  This months products are the Good Night Night Creme by LA Fresh Group, Albertini Devine Skin Hydrator, Doll 10 Creme Blush, Noyah Natural Lipstick and Lord & Berry Lipcolor and Liner.  We will see which products become a favorite...but you'll have to wait for next month!!

April IPSY Bag

Today I got my April IPSY bag.  If you are not familiar with IPSY, it is a monthly makeup subscription service of 5 random full/sample size cosmetics that arrive together in a make-up bag for $10.00 per month. The "Glam Bag" is the brain child of Michelle Phan of YouTube fame.  I have been receiving my Glam Bag for over a year and although some months are hit or miss, I have found many products that I have gone out and purchased and continue to enjoy.   It doesn't hurt that I have a bit of a zippered bag obsession and I'm just as excited for the make-up bag as I am for the products inside.

One of the things I like about IPSY is that everyone's bag is a little different.  My April's IPSY "Beautifully Bohemian" bag came with 5 products, 1 of which, the Hikari blush, is a full size product.  My daughter and I usually slit the products between us, this month she took the Klorane dry shampoo, the Balm Nude Dude Shadow and the MICA Eye Primer while I claimed the Hikari blush and JulieG nail polish.  The best part of this month's shipment has to be the make-up case.  This could very well be my favorite case of all time.  It is a perfect beach bag weave with bright happy colors!

If you have never tried a subscription bag and have always wanted to, I would highly recommend IPSY.  It's a great way to try some new beauty products,  score a cute bag and it is only $10!

Thanks for stopping by for a visit, and I hope you took a moment to "FOLLOW".

Tarte Miracles from the Amazon Kit Review

I received my Tarte "Miracles from the Amazon" kit from QVC at the end of Febuary as a TSV (Today Special Value).  The "Be Your Most Tarteist" 6 piece kit sold for $59.96 on auto delivery which means you will recieve a new kit every few months.    I love ordering cosmetic kits from QVC because the colors are always coordinated for you, the value for the amount of quality product received can't be beat and often times, brushes are included.  To me,  a great brush is worth the price of admission.  First let me say that Tarte is one of my favorite cosmetic lines.  Their BB cream and Lights, Camera Lashes mascara are two of my "Holy Grail" products.  So I was excited to try this new collection.

The kit packaging is beautiful, a mix of purples and gold.  The included make-bag is a durable woven print in Tarte's signature colors.  This kit marked the debut of their Maracuja Miracle Foundcealer, a combination of concealer and foundation that is infused with maracuja oil for a smooth finish.

I was excited to try this new formula as I am always looking for a miracle concealer to hide a few flaws.  I am sorry to say, I was not too impressed with this foundcealer.  I ordered my kit in Light as that is the shade I always use.  The color was a nice match and was very light on the skin however the coverage is not what I had expected.  I felt the formula accentuated my pores and felt too dry even for my combination skin.  Also, my under eye still required a touch more concealer.  The foundation brush, included in the kit, is outstanding!  The bristles are super soft and the angle of the brush is perfect for foundation application or blush.  This foundcealer was added to my "Saturday" make-up collection which is usually the make-up I use only on Saturdays.
A full size LipSurgence Liquid Lip Shine in Exquisite, a berry mauve shade is a beautiful color for spring.  I've been a fan of Tarte's LipSurgence for some time and this version didn't disappoint.  The Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara in black was nice, it covered and wore well but I still prefer Light's Camera Lashes mascara for fullness and length.

I've saved the best for last,  the Amazonian Clay Eye and Cheek palette.  Tarte is well known for their eye shadows.  They are soft, velvety and pigmented.  This palette came with 6 shades, Pink Beyond, Taupe for the Best, Dreams Plum True, Out of This Pearl (an Ivory shade), Thistle be the Day (a grey shade), and Paint the Brown.  Four shadows are matte and two are radiant, each are easily blendable and can stand alone.  The included double ended shadow brush is also super soft, the fluffier end is perfect for applying shadow to the crease and blending while the shorter end works well for the brow bone and lid.  Also included is a full size clay blush in Talented, a peachy coral shade that complements every skin shade.

This kit is a great addition to anyone's make-up collection.  Each item can easily be teamed up with other products you may already own. Although, I was not a fan of the new Foundcealer, I am already looking forward to the next shippement which should arrive in June, just in time for summer!

Do you ever order make-up from QVC?  You should give it a try, I've never been disappointed and returns are easy.

xoxo, Stay Beautiful my friends,
Mickey
